COMMERCIAL JOB TITLE: Local Area Network Engineer - CODE 108

Is highly skilled in Novell Software. Is certified as a Certified Netware Engineer or has completed all course work and is in the process of taking the certification examinations.
Has expertise in Novell 4.11, 3.12, and other Novell products.

Plans installations, transitions, and cutovers of Novell network components and capabilities. Coordinate requirements with users and suppliers. Design, test, install, implement and maintain Novell networks, using and implementing network standards. Operates computer networks, identifies and solves problems. Performs restart / recovery, additions, deletions, and modifications of terminals, hosts, etc., optimization of network costs and performance and implementing accounting and charge back systems. Analyzes Novell network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.

Experience in the installation and configuration of Local Area Networks and its related components. Experience ranges from the recommendation of computer hardware and software, installation and documentation of file servers, workstations, communication serveres, fax servers, all related software and mutiple protocols.

Experience integrating all types of LAN hardware including the above mentioned hardware, network adapters, disk subsystems, CD ROM readers, CD ROM servers, tape backup systems, print servers, network printers, photo typesetters, and high speed modems. Design and optimize Novell network topologies and site configurations. Has expertise in one or more of the following:

Novell network products and integration

Windows NT network products and integration

TCP/IP

SNMP

Network management

Has 5 - 10 years of experience and may serve as Technical Lead in projects with extensive use of Novell Software products.
